Small portion of Brink’s Robbery money is recovered.

June 4, 1956

[6/3-BG] Just over $50,000 is found in side the wall of a “key shop” operated by John “Fats” Buccelli at 617 Tremont Street. It is all that is ever recovered of the $2.7 million ($1.2 million in cash) stolen in the Brink’s Robbery in 1950 and is found six months after the thieves are arrested. Bennet subsequently serves a one-year sentence at the Suffolk County House of Correction.
